Director, Strategy

Our client is a high-growth, Seattle-based startup that is building the next generation of health media.  Their digital brands provide best-in-class services that bridge the gap between information and action across a variety of industries, including sleep, tele-health, and at-home testing.

Our client is in the early stages of what we can achieve, and is looking for a Director of Strategy to drive meaningful change in the business.  This role reports directly into the CFO, and will be based in Seattle (remote through 2021).

About the Role

As the Director of Strategy, you will drive our client's monetization strategy & on-site optimization.  You will have ownership across all their digital brands & verticals, and lead the process from ideation through execution.

The ideal candidate comes from an e-commerce background, and has experience managing a testing lifecycle from end-to-end.  You embrace a data-driven approach to finding insights, and understand how to transform high-level questions into testable hypotheses and actionable recommendations.

What You'll Do

  • Drive Growth: You will own our monetization strategy and on-site optimization.  This includes optimizing existing CTAs, collaborating with Product on new forms of monetization, and figuring out a monetization strategy for nascent verticals
  • Test, Learn, and Iterate:  You will lead all A/B testing at our client, including defining the testing roadmap, setting up new tests, and reviewing results to ensure a successful impact to our bottom line
  • Business Partnership:  You will collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Business Development to define the monetization roadmap and implement new recommendations.  You will also develop & mentor a team to continue to scale our optimization efforts

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in A/B testing and optimization, and other related fields
  • High-growth start-up experience required.  E-commerce experience strongly preferred
  • Experience setting up tests in Google Optimize 360, or similar testing platforms
  • Top-notch spreadsheet skills, with an impressive attention to detail
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker)
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills with a diverse (and non-technical) audience
  • A willingness to get your hands dirty -- you enjoy a scrappy, entrepreneurial environment with lots of ambiguity & new challenges
